TEENAGE yobs have made elderly peoples' lives a misery in Overton.
Two youths from the village were given direction to leave notices from police – which orders them to leave the area immediately.

It came after PC David Laybourne, of the Wakefield Rural neighbourhood police team (NPT), was called by Overton Youth Club.

Residents had complained to youth leaders about problems with anti-social behaviour after their meetings on Wednesday nights at St Luke’s Church.

PC Laybourne said: “There have been incidents of tomfoolery including youths running through gardens and knocking on doors before running off. The two main protagonists were spoken to and we hope it will end.”

He warned further action could be taken if problems persist. To contact the NPT call 01924 293256 or e-mail wakefield.rural@ westyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.
